Tasmania's new Brown Trout Season opens Saturday August 6th.

All rivers and streams, plus all lakes and lagoons classified as 'brown trout waters' re-open from August 6th.

With the states wettest late Autumn and Winter to date, our trout have had the best spawning conditions for years. This inflow of water also gives the fish the best recovery opportune from their spawning activities, and the rising levels in all waters allows them to fossick for food over the newly covered edges and margins.

Come on down..... it is shaping up as a top season with fish in great nick.
